Alexander Giesche – Visual Poems

White Out – Begegnungen am Ende der Welt2017 · Luzerner Theater
People move through an almost entirely white landscape. Fog, overexposure and video images erase distance; dark bodies briefly appear as points of reference and disappear again. WHITE OUT – BEGEGNUNGEN AM ENDE DER WELT examines how an encounter can persist when foreground, background and horizon stop doing their jobs. Steps become visible only through their shadows; gazes find and miss one another. The white is not empty. It simply contains a great many gradations and takes its time with them.
